Hey, this is Bill with Raven Rocks Precision. One of the things we’re known for is selling more Norma bullets Click to read entire video transcription than pretty much anywhere else. We have a few different variations of Norma hunting bullets to talk about today, and these are all lines currently produced by Norma in Sweden. We sell them here in the United States.
Working left to right, I’m going to go over the different bullets we have available. Keep in mind, we stock most of these in every caliber you’d typically want—.22 cal, 6mm, 7mm, .270, .30 cal—so your hunting rifle is probably covered.
The first one we’ll talk about is the Norma Tip Strike. Tip Strike is a more classic bullet, upgraded with a polymer tip to increase ballistic coefficient. It’s ideal for whitetail deer or other medium-sized game in the U.S. The .22 cal and 6mm versions are lighter bullets and deliver explosive energy. For example, the .22 cal Tip Strike is a 55-grain bullet and the 6mm version is 76 grains—both are great for varmint hunting and comparable to a Swedish V-Max. Heavier Tip Strike bullets feature a mechanical lock, which increases the likelihood that the jacket and core stay together on impact. This results in a cleaner kill and quicker takedown. They have a solid pedigree for accuracy, are very popular, and are currently priced very competitively.
The next bullet is the Oryx. The Oryx is a traditional cup-and-core design, but unlike the Tip Strike, it is a bonded bullet. This means the jacket is chemically bonded to the core, significantly increasing weight retention—making it great for larger game. The example we have here is a .30 cal, 180-grain bullet. We’ve sold a lot of them. All of these come in boxes of 100 bullets. We stock them from .22 cal (55 grain) all the way up to .30 cal, and even .338 cal when available. We occasionally get .358 and .375 Oryx bullets in as well. It’s a very popular design used not only in North America, but worldwide. It’s a trusted, classic hunting bullet that people have loaded for years.
The last bullet is one of Norma’s newer lines: the Bond Strike. While Norma offers Bond Strike bullets in other calibers like 6.5mm, the .30 cal, 6mm, and 7mm variants are expected to return to the U.S. later this year. Currently, we have plenty of the 6.5mm 143-grain Bond Strike in stock. These bullets feature a blue polymer tip and, at first glance, resemble the Tip Strike—but the key difference is that Bond Strike is also a bonded bullet. This results in excellent weight retention. They’re designed for long-range performance and have high ballistic coefficients. We’ve received reports of very accurate shooting out to 1,000 yards. Of course, your effective range depends on your skill and your rifle’s capabilities, but Bond Strike bullets can likely outperform most shooters.
We carry these in case quantities and have a full stock of Tip Strike, Oryx, and Bond Strike bullets. You won’t find a better selection of Norma hunting bullets anywhere else in the United States than at Raven Rock Precision.
