Subsonic rifle bullets must never be loaded past 1,250 fps because they may come apart in mid-air.
Subsonic velocity is usually loaded to approximately 1,050 fps.
When doing load work for a subsonic load, it is important to start with a velocity over the desired goal and then WORK DOWN to the approximate 1,050 fps velocity. Failure to do so may lead to squib loads and projectiles stuck in the bore due to insufficient velocity.
You must have a quality chronograph to be able to accurately measure the velocity of your loaded ammunition.
