The .416 Taylor is a rifle cartridge created by Robert Chatfield-Taylor in the early 1970s. It is capable of sending 400 grains of bullet out of the barrel at 2350 fps at proper pressure. The .416 Taylor is simply the .458 Winchester Magnum case necked-down to accept .416″ bullets, making it a great choice for big game hunting. It is one of the more modern cartridges for hunting dangerous game in Africa, and can drive a 340gn Woodleigh PPSN bullet with a ballistic coefficient of .330 at a healthy 2,500fps or more.
